Description

A zine covering the topic of transgender news stories and reporting on our lives from the mainstream media and how to apply media literacy to your analysis of said writing about transgender people. How to spot bad faith reporting, how to read for disingenuous "just asking questions" that end up getting our healthcare banned, how to spot red flags in people who want to interview YOU as a trans or queer person (there are some right-wing groups posing as "queer media makers" and then they use the footage to defame queer individuals later upon release of their "projects".) This zine also features cyber security tips and lots of bit.ly links to various important organizations and guides on how to become more safe online as a queer person. We must protect each other, so in my time being uber-online before Musk took over twitter I gathered all of these resources from professionals in the trans and queer community online who are elders or just really wise and helpful or have gone through the worst in regards to the media's treatment of trans people. This was compiled in 2022, so now in 2025 it is crucial to read these kinds of texts even if transphobia is no longer subtext but becoming state law. We must persist. Keep going. Help others stay safe and start with this zine!

Digital format of the zine, readable in PDF.
